CrossFit Endurance
Need to get your off-season winter training in? Feeling stuck indoors with the cold and wet? Looking to improve your times?
Too many times we hear from athletes that they want to get better at their cycling or running and find that they over train, pick up injuries, don’t have time and have reached a plateau, potentially even with decrease in times. The first thing they say to us is that they need to do more running or cycling to increase their times. We say, that is exactly the opposite of what you should do. You need to decrease the amount of time you spend on your bike or on the road (junk miles or junk time) and increase your strength and power training with cross training (other forms of training). Why is this?
Long duration/Endurance training requires the need for low intensity training and results in athletes who are less powerful, less lean and more prone to injury. Many also suffer from low energy and abbreviated longevity in their sport.
We have designed CrossFit Endurance for this specific need. We have a team of coaches who specialise in coaching endurance athletes, implementing methods geared toward improving performance, fitness and endurance sports potential. It is unlike traditional long, slow distance training in that we eliminate unnecessary volume (junk miles) and increase the intensity of the training sessions. Greater strength and power, gives you better strength endurance pace and improves capacity for performance power output, which correlates to improved times, less injuries, breaking personal bests (PBs), better overall performance and physical conditioning.
We focus on correcting faulty biomechanics and weaknesses to
create a stronger, more balanced athlete. Our approach is also to spend time
focussing on those injuries or niggles with corrective stretching, mobility as
both a preventative and rehabilitation measure. We also have experienced remedial
and corrective massage therapists to assist with improved muscle function and
recovery.
